2 dudes 1 vancouver

We’ve been in Vancouver just over a week now and I am in love with this city.

We are staying with my good pal’s Matt and Rachel. They have lived out here for about 5 months and knew enough to show us around the city, plus Matt rides BMX so he showed us a bunch of skateparks and some trails.

Matt and Rachel (we ate some of the best chinese food I’ve ever had, and it was vegan except for a couple items):

We’ve been going to lots of rad punk shows and the scene here seems so tight, we met a bunch of super welcoming people and have been hitting shows and partying with them a little bit. Besides that we’ve been riding a ton of BMX.I even rode trails for the first time which was amazing. I took a bad fall riding some shit I shouldn’t have been since it was super dark and my eyes suck. I’ll be out of commission for at least a month due to a fracture in my hand and the cast/splint thing that I have to wear.

Fractured some bone in my hand or wrist or something like that.

An unexpected and awesome surprise was that my friend Danny Cox took a break from his adventures to come visit Matt while we were here. Danny was part way through a ~2500 mile hike on the Pacific Crest Trail and decided he wanted a break. Danny and his brother rode their bikes from Victoria to Tijuana year and Danny has also spent a lot of time hitch hiking around the continent. His adventures trump ours by a longshot but have also been a big inspiration for me wanting to travel. You can read about his current adventure at his blog.

Danny eats more than any other person I’ve ever met.

We are still here for a while and since I won’t be riding, I’ll try to take more photos and maybe put some more thought into my posts so they aren’t boring.
